Erin Condren Planner Review

I heard so many people talking up the Erin Condren planner I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I have been using it since the beginning of the year, so here is my first Erin Condren Planner Review.

My techie husband cringed at the thought of me abandoning Google calendar when I told him I wanted a paper planner.  For years he has been trying to get me organized by encouraging me to use my phone to track and schedule my day. I wish I could be that person, but every time I went to look at my calendar I looked at Facebook instead. Then I checked my Gmail. Then I read some blogs and watched a few YouTube videos. To be honest, I am not even sure where the Google calendar app was located on my phone. You see what I mean – it just didn’t work for me.

INSIDE the planner

I  ordered the Rose Gold Life Planner from the Good to Go collection. This means it was shipped “as is” with no personalization. You can get all of the planners personalized with your name, which I love, but there was a Black Friday sale on the Good to Go collection. The personalized planners were taking several weeks to ship at the time and I wanted it in time for Christmas.

Erin Condren Planner Yearly Overview

Yearly overview near the front.

Every month as a two page monthly overview followed by a two page weekly overview.

Monthly OVerview V2

Monthly 2 Page Layout.

I ordered the ‘Hourly Layout’. There are two others other layouts to choose: ‘Horizontal Weekly’ and  ‘Vertical Weekly’. While I like the hourly, looking back I should have purchased the vertical weekly. We  have a routine, not a prescribed hourly schedule so I find myself writing over the time on the side.

Weekly Closeup V2

Hourly Weekly Layout starting on Monday and ending on Sunday (6am -7pm).

In the back of each planner are reminder stickers. They are one-time use stickers and are not reusable. There are 2 pages with pre-written events and then 2 pages of blank ones. This is a nice addition.

Stickers 2V2

Important date stickers included in the back of the planner.

The planner also comes with a pouch that contains samples of stickers and encouragement cards. The sample stickers are useful. The encouragement cards are pretty, but they don’t do much for me.

All Erin Condren planner covers are removable and interchangeable, which is a great feature if you want to change up the look through the year. The box it arrived in contained a voucher for a free personalized cover too (but you had to pay shipping). I placed an order for mine last week and it should be arriving in a few days. I think this is a fun and unique idea to swap out covers. Erin Condren has a TON of covers to choose from so there are lots of different options.

Extra V2

Classic Sticker Book (purchased separately) and removable Perpetual Calendar (included with planner).

The life planner comes with a removable calendar where you can track important dates. This is great because you fill it out once and then just transfer it to another planner next year.  I also purchased the Classic Sticker Book. This has a bunch of fun stickers you can use in the planner. While I think this makes it more visually appealing, they serve no real function other than making your planner look pretty. Not sure I would spend $15.00 on this again.

There are TONS of fun ad-ons available and you could spend a small fortune filling up your cart, but there are two accessories I purchased that I would recommend.  I love the Snap in StylizedSticky notes. They cost a crazy $12.00 but they are great quality. And they are fun. I find it much more enjoyable to write on pretty paper reminders. The Coil Clips are a great idea too. You just attach these onto whatever you want to place in the planner and then snap them onto the main planner coil. For $7.00 you get twelve 2′ clips.  I added in an extra folder and a to-do list note pad I purchased from Target.

Coil Clips V2 Erin Condren Planner

Coil Clips (love these!).

So far I am LOVING this thing. The quality is amazing. It is very durable and made well. I wish it had more room for planning goals or to-do lists though. The layout reminds me of the typical school planner I had back in college, but I still love it and I am actually using it.
